Noren + Tapestries

A legacy, family workshop in Kyoto using long-standing techniques, including wax-resist dyeing and silk screen printing. The patterning is at once traditional and modern.

Made by the Kiyoe father and son team, these noren and tapestries are handcrafted using indigo dye and sumi ink — the same kind used in calligraphy. The original designs are at home in any contemporary space.

Highlighting the skills of the makers, these decorative pieces have unique elements like rope braiding and embroidery that enhance their appeal.
