The sugi (Japanese cedar) scent is woody and clean, with a subtle sweetness. It promotes tranquility, calm, and focus. Use it when you're sitting down to work or when you want to create a grounded atmosphere that evokes the forests of Japan.

Uzumaki incense, which translates to ‘swirl,’ has a slow burn time of 35-40 minutes, offering you a longer-lasting option. The Uzumaki shape can be commonly seen as "katorisenko" which are incense used as bug repellent. Since most incense on the market are stick- or cone-shaped, we wanted to bring you these unusual mini-swirls. Pair the Uzumaki Incense with our Incense Accessories Collection.

FREE SHIPPING on orders $300+ USD in Asia Pacific region, $350+ USD in other regions. Our products are shipped from Japan and may be subject to import duties, which are the responsibility of the buyer. Import duties are not covered by free shipping.

This incense is brought to you in collaboration with the Fukunaga family, a business carrying a legacy of over 120 years. Based on Awaji Island, the region is known for being the original birthplace of incense in Japan. The history of incense in Japan dates back to an April day in 595 AD, according to The Chronicles of Japan (720 AD) when a piece of aromatic wood drifted to the shores of Awaji Island. With its year-long warm climate and ample sea breeze, the island is an ideal place to dry the incense - a crucial process in its making.
